How to join

Joining the The Scottish St. Andrew's Society of Abu Dhabi couldn’t be easier. You don’t need to know anyone in the Society so if you have just arrived in Abu Dhabi, please get in touch directly with our membership secretary.

Membership

There are two types of membership:

  • ORDINARY Membership of the Society is for those who wish to join our Society on a yearly basis.
  • LIFE  Membership is open to those who prefer to have a long lasting relationship with the Society even after departure from Abu Dhabi.

When applying for membership, please state which type of membership you seek and your reason for wishing to join.

Fees and subs

There is no joining fee for the Scottish St Andrews Society of Abu Dhabi.

The annual subscription rates are as follows for both Ordinary and Life membership:

  • Ordinary: AED 100
  • Life:        AED 400

Subscriptions are payable on joining – either by bank transfer or posting a cheque with your application form

What you get for your subscription

Subsidised tickets to all our social events. For Black tie events, usually three times a year, there is usually a Dhs 50 per ticket subsidy

Instruction on what to do next

Simply download and complete the membership form. Upon completion you can either:

Electronically:

  1. Please call Membership secretary for our bank account details then pay direct into the society account.
  2. E-mail completed application form to steve43_holt@hotmail.com and include details of where and when your subscription payment was made

Post completed application form and subscription cheque to Membership Secretary (details below)

Your application will be reviewed and approved by the committee and you will be notified when your application is approved.

New members welcome drinks

At regular intervals, we are planning to hold welcome drinks for new members – usually at one of the city’s bars. These are informal events and attended by the Chieftain and some committee members.  It is mainly a meet and greet and to get familiar with new faces.  As a new member, you will be contacted by the membership secretary when the next one is due after you join.
